My Town

By Yareli

The bad things about my town are that it doesn't have stores to shopping. And also there's no that much restaurants in my town. And also people are gossip and rumors spread around the town.

Some of the good reasons about my town is that is a calm town. And also everybody knows everybody. Another reason is that is a small town there are no gangs or killing. Also you could walk around with your friends without worrying that something is going to happened to you or to your friends.

THE FALLEN

By Aly

It was a cold day, no sun was shining through. Death was all around, and I was staring my own killer in the face. He and I were both angels, but different kinds. He was a White Angel, and I was a death angel. We both did jobs that helped one another, but did that stop our two races from hating each other? No.

It would kill off one of our races in the end. But did anyone really care? No, they just thought: 'It's them, or us.' And I agreed that both races hated each other for some good reasons, but not everyone is like how they think we are.

White angels aren't all snobby, and they aren't all high end. In fact some white angels is so nice and sweet that they would try and fight for the love that they knew use to be in our races. And all Death angels aren't all mean, they just have a job that has to do with death; it's how we make ends meet.

No one would listen to logic though, not until it was proven. I already knew my fate, my fate was to try and save both of our races. "Is this what you really want?" I asked, almost inaudibly.

The white angel looked at me as if I were crazy. "Our kinds were meant to hate each other." He said harshly.

I shook my head 'no' "It isn't, and you know it. We use to be brethren angels! But now… Now we kill because of something that happened over 100 years ago." I stated, like it was the most obvious thing in the world, but in my mind it was.

"How can you say that? Both of our communities are built up on us hating each other. It's been that way for a long time." He said matching my own attitude.

"Yes but if we keep fighting, it will be the end."

"What is born must die sometime." He countered my words. "I grow tired of this banter." He said carelessly, he raised his sword and swung. It stopped a inch from my neck, like a force field was there protecting me.

"Stop!" said a thunderous voice; a crying angel was coming down; out of the clouds. He had a tear on his cheek, forever therein their race. "This boy has showed love and compassion for all of the people. Doesn't he deserve a little kindness?" The angel asked.

His magnificent white wings stretched out. He looked gracefully upon both of us. He seemed to own a heir of command that told you, if you don't listen you're going to be in trouble.

I looked down; my parents were dead from the war. And I was the last of my family. I wouldn't really mind if I died today, tomorrow, or whenever. Because life is life, I can't choose when to live and when to die, but I can choose that while I live it's going to be the fullest.

The crying angel came up to me, and looked me over, scrutinizing every part of my being. "I am no angel that deserves kindness… This is what I believe is right, and I think he should be able to choose who deserves kindness in his own eyes." I said, I was speaking normally.

The White angel shrugged and brought up his sword, I looked up at him. We locked gazes, and he saw what he was about to do was wrong. I couldn't blame him if he killed me, but now I think of what he said to me earlier that day. "What was born must die."

Our kind lived peacefully after that confrontation, but we still have some hostility towards each other, but mostly those are the ones that can't handle change. That war was born, and then it died. It went with all of what was supposed to be. And I'm glad. And personally I think before that day, we should have been known as the Fallen angels.

Chad’s Thoughts

What does the phrase, "There are two sides to a coin" mean to you?

"There is more than the eye can see" is the same thing. Basically, it means everything has pros and cons. Like If you put cheats on a video game, there's always a catch. Like they decrease your points or something. Or like when you cheat in a card game, and it turns out that old card is just what you needed.

My Field Trip Idea

By Nora

I think field trips are very important to have in schools. It gives a chance for the students to explore new things with their school friends. But sometimes there are field trips that are just for fun, and not about learning…And those are my favorite.

If I were to choose where to go on a field trip, I would definitely choose a place where kids can have fun. An amusement park, a swimming pool, camping, and going to the beach are all great ideas in my opinion. But the idea I choose would definitely be the best field trip my friends from class have ever been on.

My idea for a field trip would be to go to Pismo Beach. Pismo Beach is a very cool place because there are sand dunes by the water that you can ride quads and other vehicles on. We would all meet at school, and take two vans there. We would bring a very big tent that could fit everyone inside and put it on the dunes. We would stay maybe one or two nights if the weather is nice and swim and party during the day, and party next to a fire with music at night. It would be a very, very fun time for sure.

If that idea isn't possible, I would choose a much simpler one. I would want to go to the
Hot
Springs. The Hot Springs is a very fun swimming pool that I love to go to. It has warm water and a very hot, hot, hot hottub. In the pool, there's this fountain thing that shoots water from water spouts and it's very fun to go under. I'm sure my class would have a great time there. And if that's not enough, either before or after we swim, we could go into town and eat at McDonald's or maybe even go watch a movie. Mr. Heist said it might be possible if Mrs. G. approves, which would be absolutly awesome. We would come to school and take two vans, since our class is so small. I'm very sure that it would be an amazing time…For me anyways.

If my field trip fantasies could come true, I would be the happiest person in the world. (That's kind of a dramatization, but still.) I hope at least my idea for going to the Hot Springs can come true.

My Opinions about My Town

By Nefertity

I think that this is a great town. I like the people, the stores, and I like that you could be walking in the streets without being afraid that someone would come out of nowhere and hurt you. The town is small, so I know mostly everyone that lives here. It's also good that I can know every store and know all the routes and the shortcuts. Living here for most of my life has been a great experience.

My town is an awesome town but there are
some things that are bad about this town. One thing is that it's kind of small; since it's small we can't really have any fun things like a theater, mall, or more variety of stores. Another bad thing is that we don't really meet new people, unless we talk to the tourists passing through on their way to other places. This town is fun even without a bunch of fun places to go to.

Families

By Emma

I think that families are very important. They are always there for you. When you are sad they always try to cheer you up. And when you don't feel good they take care of you and get you food or something even if they usually won't when you're not sick. When you're bored they usually will play with you and make you not bored. I love my family and I am so happy I'm not an only child because that would suck. Families are very important to me.

My own design house

By Dylan

My house would be five acres long and three- story house with a basement. In the back yard, there would be an Olympic sized swimming pool, got-cart racing track, game lounge; flat hotel for gust and people to stay over, and the last thing would be a huge port for plans and garages for cars. This house would be located in Organ or Canada. Inside the house, there would be five bedrooms, six bathrooms, one kitchen on the first flour, a playroom, pantry, and hot floors. There would be more items and rooms in the house but I do not want to have a five-page list. The front of the hose would have a river, and plant like a usual house. The color of the house would be a mocha coffee color. These would be my design for my own house.

Darkness

by aly

What would it be like to live in darkness? Would it be peaceful, loving, quiet, scary, evil, or something else? Well this one boy only see's darkness. Not in the way you may think though…

~~**~~**~~**~~

I woke up, nothing seemed different. Everything was in color, but when I walked out and saw my mother I knew something was wrong. I ignored it though, and headed off for school. I was walking with my best friend who was a orphan. Her name was Amile, she had brown hair and eyes. She always wore rags. "Hello," She said in that monotone voice of hers. She used it only when she was sad.
Again I ignored it. 'If she needed help' I thought 'she would ask.' We got to school and learned all types of stuff but I don't think I learned as much in school as when I got home.
I saw blood, red blood dripping down from the ceiling. It dripped onto my nose, and wiped it off. I slowly went up stairs and saw my mother. She was laying face down on the bed, a gun in her hand. She was dead. I saw a letter in front of her. And it read

"I won't live without my soul mate by my side."

Is all it said, I called the police to come get the body. Everything seemed dull, like nothing, especially me wasn't there. They came and took the body. I found a letter, it had said my father died in the war.
I didn't cry that day, nor will I ever. I tried being the best I could be but it seemed like it didn't work. As I grew older my feelings and self grew colder… Nothing seemed real anymore. It never would, not anymore.

And the first time I got jailed, I thought 'it's about time.'

I was tired of fighting for life, it came easy to others, but to me it was a pain. I got in my first fight in jail and everything seemed to move slowly, I punched the guy, he punched back it was a endless cycle. But in the end it was I who won the fight and he who won the world. He had something to love, something to lose and for that I think him lucky.

He didn't know what he had though and until this I never knew why I was always sad. And I would always be sad until the day I died.

What if the Bible is True?

By Jonathan k

If the bible is true what would that mean for you? Would you be haunted by the fact that demons are real? Would you not go to heaven when the antichrist tries to take over the world? Would you be in a safe place when the antichrist kills millions for not worshiping him would God be protecting you? He will if you're a Christian. Will you be on Earth when the oceans become blood red and the world's water supply goes bad? Will you be with your pet dog, cat, bird, or gerble? Will you be in a place where you will know what your pet is saying? Will you be in a place where all the food is zero calories and you can eat a 30-pound chocolate cake and not gain a single pound? (I'm looking forward to that part! ☺) Will you be in a place where there is no death, no pain, and no suffering? Where the streets are paved with gold? (I would run out of time if I got to into that.) Or will you be in a place where Armageddon is taking place? Where things that no one can explain are happening? (AND I DO NOT MEAN THAT IN A GOOD WAY!!!)

Where creatures no one believed are real are causing the deaths of millions?

Will you go to Hell? Will you be in pain for the rest of eternity? Or will you be with Jesus Christ? (When I was little I thought Christ was Jesus' last name☺)

If you have any sanity or self esteem you'll want to be with God.

(Did you know that dog the bounty hunter is a Christian?)

(Did you know that dog is God spelled backwards?)

Good and Bad

By Nefertity

"There are two sides to a coin", to me that means that everything that happens has a good side and a bad side to it. One time this phrase would be used well is if you do better than everyone on a quiz or test, the bad side would be everybody calling you a nerd and the good side would be you getting the best grade in the class! Everybody has a different opinion of which is the good side and which is the bad side to the problem. Another time would be when you go shopping, if you're a little kid and you can't find any clothes that fit in the children's' section, you'll have to go shop in the juniors section from then on. For anybody that could be either good or bad, some people like growing up but some people would much rather stay little. "Two sides on every coin" or "Two perspectives to everything that happens", they mean the same thing to me.

My Restaurant

By Nora

Having a family restaurant must be really fun. And if that's fun, having your own restaurant must be a blast. If I had my own restaurant, I'm sure it would be crazy, creative, and very fun…Especially for the kids.

If I had my own restaurant, I would call it Nora's Château. I don't know if I would actually stick with that name if I actually got my own restaurant, but for now, that's what it's going to be.

The building my restaurant is in would have to be very, very colorful and in a shape of an ancient medieval castle. The building would have a moat around it and it would be filled with crocodiles and alligators that were once injured and needed a new home. Around the moat would be a wonderful, beautiful garden filled with flowers of all colors and gorgeously cut bushes in the shape of me. There would of course be other dazzling plants that I don't even know the name of. I would have my home in the top floor of the castle, and the restaurant would be on the bottom floor. All the people who work at my restaurant would have to be dressed in very elegant medieval clothing and they would have to have the best of manners…Unless I tell them not to. The inside of my restaurant/house would be so magnificently incredible, there's no possible way I could tell you.

In my restaurant, I would serve all kinds of food from all over the world. I would have five cooks for each category of foods from around the world. The cooks would HAVE to be five star chefs. Each customer who enters would get to choose if they want Italian food, French food, German food, American food, Mexican food, Chinese food, and many other types of food on my long list. For every type, there would be a certain room to go to. When the customer chooses what type they want, they would be escorted to the room that has that kind of food. My restaurant would definitely be very high class.

But there is one problem. The problem with is that I want everyone to be able to eat there, even if they don't have too much money. So the great thing about it would be that it would be very high class, but at a fairly good price. On certain nights I might raise the prices, and on others I might lower them. But I'm going to make sure I have gigantic, tough, and fit body guards at all doors of the building. I would also have security cameras ALL over…except in the bathroom stalls, but there would still be cameras in the bathroom. I would make sure they're hidden too.

When I actually get my restaurant, I'm sure there would be a lot more to add, but for now, this is all I need. If I actually got this restaurant, I would be overjoyed for sure.

Reviewing: The Twilight Saga

By Nora J

The Twilight saga includes some of the most popular books of the new age- Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn. These books are more popular with teenage girls, but there are still other people who read them. (Which I think is kind of weird, when it's a boy, but I try not to care.) In my opinion, they are the Best.

I've read the whole saga twice. Once when I first bought them, and then the second time about a month later when I kind of forgot what happened in the third book Eclipse. I am definitely not the kind of person that likes to watch or read the same thing twice… unless the thing I'm reading or watching is really great. I can tell when it's great when even though you know exactly what's going to happen, you have the same crazy emotions you had the first time. And with these books, that happened. Especially with Breaking Dawn because I think that's the best and most exciting book out of them all.

I know how in magazines and on celebrity news shows they always talk about how crazy teenage girls go absolutely psycho over the movie stars that are in the movies based on these books, but to tell you the truth, the movies aren't even close to how great the books are. And how there's team Edward and team Jacob. I think that's really dumb how they have teams because everyone knows exactly how the story turns out. And also I don't get why they have teams because what exactly are you rooting for? But if I had to choose what team I would be on, I would choose Edward's because for one, vampires are awesome, and the other reason is because I read the books before the movies came out and right off the bat I was on the vampires' side. Also technically the werewolves are the "bad guys" in the books, but now they screwed up the whole story in the movies, which kind of pisses me off, but I deal with it.

I think the reason people (mostly including teenage girls) like these books so much is because they compare themselves to Bella, and reflect themselves onto her. It really makes you daydream and actually makes you almost believe that there are vampires and werewolves somewhere.

I really suggest that whoever is into books about romance, excitement, sadness, and some other awesome stuff, should definitely read these books, because I almost guarantee that whoever you are and if you like those book genres, you'll love them…very much.

Oh yeah and remember…vampires
are

Awesome! J

My Restaurant

By Jacob

Jacobs + Iasi's Pizza Factory. Me and Isai will be rich and pay the employees 8 bucks an hour. And huge arcade with 25 Machines. The dining room has 3 Big screen TV.

My Sandwich

By Karlie

If I could make a sandwich that has not been made yet or is not usually made I would make an Oreo Peanut Butter Sandwich.

The sandwich would be like an ordinary peanut butter sandwich. In-between the top piece bread and the peanut butter there will be 2 Oreos. The 2 Oreos will make the sandwich crunchy and delicious.

Now that would be the sandwich that I would invent. Now you should try it and see if you like it!J

You Should

By Karlie

One of my favorite movies is Pearl Harbor I like that movie because there is a lot of action and it is very interesting.

I in my opinion if u haven't watched Pearl Harbor you need to. It is one of the best movies I know I have ever watched. If you like action movies and also some drama, and you like to learn more about your history, this is the movie for you.

And that is my persuasion to get you to watch the movie Pearl Harbor.

CHARiTY

By Lupita

If I ever had one hundred dollars that I couldn't spend I would probably find someone that was homeless I would give it to them. It is sad that they don't have money and since I can't spend it the money might as well go to some one that needs it. That lucky person would probably get to eat some food in the first time in a while and maybe even get some food for the next day or two. If there was a thrift store around they could maybe even buy some clothes and blankets. He or she would be really thankful for the money and what they could do with it.

MY BROTHERS!

By Lupita

I have four brothers but no sister. Many people don't like their siblings but I do well only sometimes. They can be nice to me and they can be mean to me too.

My oldest brother Victor was my favorite; he was twenty-nine years old. It is really weird that I and he have the same birthday. My mom's oldest and youngest kids born on the same day is really weird. Second is Sergio probably the craziest one of us all. He is really creative and nice, to me at least. Before when we were younger we always used to fight but now that we are bigger not as much. Actually we get along really good now.

Third is the middle brother Martin. He is not very nice to me. Martin usually yells at me because I don't help my mom as much as I should. Then there is Junior me and him are constantly fighting but then we get over it pretty quickly and then we fight again. But he does help me out when I want my parents to let do something and I do the same for him.

I love my bothers but they do get on my nerves every once and a while. No matter how mad they might make me about dumb things like boys and glasses they will always be my crazy brothers.

If I Had $100

By Jonathan

If I had one hundred dollars, but I had to give it to a charity, or a person I would give it to someone who would give it to St. Judes. I would tell him to go play the lottery 100 times over and if he won give it to St. Judes. And I'm talking about the power ball, or mega millions. It would do a lot of good if someone gave that kind of money to St. Judes. That would be millions of dollars towards finding cures for cancers. They would be able to have better fund raisers more people to find cures.

When you think about it why not what kind of heartless person wouldn't do that? I'm not saying that it's your fault if you don't think of that at first, I'm saying you should drop dead if you win the lottery and end up sueing St.Judes and try to bomb St. Judes if that doesn't work.

My Sandwich

By Emma

My sandwich would be on sourdough bread. In it I put meat, Peanut butter, banana, tomatoes, bacon and, chips. I have never tried this sandwich before. It sounds gross but good at the same time I am going to try it when I get home.

BURIA!

By Aly

If I opened my own restaurant I would open a place called Buria. Buria, is Russian for storm, and I really like the way storms look. Buria would be kept in Novosibirsk, Russia because I really, really like Russia.

Buria would be in a gothic looking building, the walls would be a grey or black with gargoyles'. Inside the walls would be blood red, and the tables would have red satin table cloths with a black candle holder thing in the middle. Some times on special occasions I would put black roses up on the walls, or maybe make a bouquet of black, red, and purple roses.

In my restaurant I would serve a lot of different foods but I think I would serve a big variety of steak. I love steak because they're easy to cook, they taste good, and who wouldn't like a good steak? Many different people would work at my restaurant; the manager's name would be Dimitri. J And that's about it, so yeah.

Chad’s Happiness

By Chad

My restaurant's name is Happiness. We serve LIMBS with SALSA and stuffed with BEANS. The restaurant's color is RAINBOW. There's a gigantic SMILEY FACE on the sign. We kill the witnesses that see us cooking, and serve them up, which is often. We kill our chefs so they don't rat us out to the PIGGY PIGGY PIGGIES. We serve human baby's eyeballs. Dylan is the head chef, and he loves murdering people. He eats their eyeballs, and gets yelled at frequently for eating the grub. He works here because we sued them for robbing us, and we WON! WOOOHOOOO! We spent all the money on improvements on the restaurant. Heist is the teacher of the cooks, on how to KILL the WITNESSES and cook 'em UP!

PERSUASIVE ESSAY!

By Aly

My favorite book is Vampire Academy, by Richelle Mead. There are many reasons why I like it, and there are reasons why other people all over the world, even Japan, like the book. For one even though it's a vampire book the characters have real life qualities, and they deal with some of the stuff any person would. And who doesn't like a good adventure book that is made for young readers?

At the beginning of the book it's pretty boring, because she's explaining who she is. But once you get about two chapters into the book, it sort of compels you to read more and more. I should know, I stayed up until four in the morning, and got up at 6:00 o'clock A.M. and read more! And then Rose, the main character, sort of relates to everyone in one way or another makes you think anything is possible. Of course not all guys would like this book, but there are a few.

But what originally attracted me to the book was that I was in the nearest place with a bookstore, and I thought their was nothing to read there; then I saw the cover of Shadow Kiss and I thought wow, the name sounds… well boring but the cover looks cool! You see that's how I pick books; I look at the front cover. It's probably not the best way, and not reading the back until after I buy it sure isn't smart but I haven't got a bad book so far.

Anyway, Shadow Kiss was the first book I read of Vampire Academy, even though it's the third book, after that I couldn't put it down. The words sort of drew me to read more and more, and if I had to pick the book that helps me through rough times it would be Shadow Kiss all the way.

I have already suggested the book to a couple people, and I'm trying to get my book back from Ethan's mom, I'm going on four months without the first book and I really want it back. But I think that this book will be a favorite of mine for a long time.

So, yeah, that's about all I could say about it. The books just so amazing that there are no words to describe it perfectly! So you'll just have to see for yourself. Oh, and the book also made me fall in love with Russia, I still love the U.S.A. but I plan to travel to Russia one day. J

Movie Review

By Nefer

The movie A Walk to Remember is really nice and romantic. It's about a girl that has leukemic cancer (Jamie). And a guy that does pranks with his friends and one day it goes wrong and he has to do lots of school activities. One of them was a play that Jamie was also in, she says that she'll help him, but only if he promises not to fall in love with her. He thought that that would never happen but they start getting really close and he starts to like her.

Jamie hadn't told Landon that she had cancer, she had only said that she had a wish list of things to do during her lifetime. She wants to do things like be friends with someone she doesn't like, get a tattoo, be in two places at once, and making a telescope to see a comet that is coming. One day Landon took Jamie to do some things on her wish list. They were starting to like each other more than before.

When Jamie and Landon where both in love with each other Jamie's dad told her that if she loved Landon to tell him about her cancer. Then when Jamie tells him, he goes to his dad who is a doctor and asks him to help Jamie; his dad sadly couldn't because he didn't know enough about her past. One day her cancer gets really bad and she almost dies, after she builds the telescope and see's the comet Landon proposes to her and she says yes. They get married at the church that her parents were married at the Jamie dies a while after.

Evolution v. Creationism

by Jonathan

It's not really my favorite show but if you're an atheist you should watch that show. It disproves evolution. You need to watch it.

Take this into consideration: If creation is true and you are not a Christian do you really want to go to Hell? Do you want to burn alive and never die? Do you want to be in pain so bad you can't even imagine it? Do you want to go to Hell? If you said yes you really need to see a consular or something.

If creation isn't true and you're a Christian that does what they're supposed to do, at least you did something good with your life. At least you helped people. At least you had something to hold onto. At least you've lead a good life. J

If creation is true and you are a Christian. Then you'll end up in paradise, forever. You'll be able to hear colors, smell them to. You'll be able to see sounds. There will be new colors, not new shades of colors completely new colors! Humans have five senses out of who knows how many? Your pet dog will be up there, your pet cat to. Witch do you prefer? Hell or Hevan?

Do you want to watch it now? If not that's you problem and I feel sorry for you. If you do, GOOD FOR YOU!

Favorite show

By Dylan

My favorite television show is N.C.I.S which stands for Naval Criminal Investigations Service .There are two series of the show N.C.I.S Los Angles and just old N.C.I.S. My favorite is the old N.C.I.S because there are some great actors. In addition, the show shows the crime scenes and predicts about the crime. The show also shows you how to use evidence and how to trap the criminals.

This show is great to watch. It has action, mystery and adventure in one show. If you are the type of person who like this all packed into one show, check the show out. N.C.I.S. airs on CBS and USA networks. The show is never in order so you do not have to watch the first show then the second show like all other shows, example lost, chuck and desperate housewives. One episode is when is navy officer is murdered by her commanding officer.

The show has been on for years and has been rated for five stars. Our parents watch the show and the obviously do not change the show that must mean it is good. Watch the show on television at any time, mostly at 8:00 a CBS network.

Chad’s Book Review

By Chad

Think about your favorite book or movie.  Why is it your favorite?  Write an essay persuading readers to watch the movie or read the book.  Be specific and use lots of details.  Your essay should be at least three paragraphs.

I'm going to tell y'all 'bout Bluford High. I only read numero uno of the series. It is a very interesting teen book. It has a "murder" in it which makes it intense.

It all started off with Roylin. He was a 17 year old social outcast, shot before, lived with an abusive father, which moved out recently. Because of said father, he inflicted his pain on others, making him a bully. But when he meets the girl of his dreams, he needs cash fast, so he steals it from his old friend, who keeps all his cash in his wallet.

But when he steals it, Tuttle, an old man who owns the apartments, plays a dirty trick on Roylin. He makes Roylin think Mr. Miller is dead, and makes him do work or he'll call the cops. Then he buys the necklace for Korie archer, the grl of his dreams who just moved in, she cheats on him. And now he thinks he killed a man for nothing. Then he calls his one friend Cooper, and find out Mr. Miller isn't dead after all! Then at the end, he asks the popular kids to go chill with old dudes, and when Korie asks him to go out with her again.

Movie Review

By Emma

My favorite movie is Shanghai Knights. It is my favorite movie because it is really funny. It has some action too. The two main characters are Owen Wilson and Jackie Chan. Owen Wilson plays Roy O'bannon and Jackie Chan plays John Winn but becomes John Wayne.

John's dad got killed by a French guy that's 9th in the line for the throne and he wants to kill all the people in front of him and blame it on the Chinese so he can become the king. John and his sister and Roy try to get revenge on the guy. It doesn't really sound funny but it really is.

Shanghai Knights is a really good movie. You should watch it. It will probably be the best movie you watch.

The Birthday Gift I desire

by Nora J

I've wanted many presents over the years, and most of them I didn't get. There's one that I wanted for a very long time, but I still do not have it. My parents say I have to sell my quad in order to have it. I want to, but I just can't find a buyer.

The gift is a mini dune buggy. I've always wanted one because they're super awesome in my opinion, and they're like little miniature cars. I've always wanted my own car, and a mini dune buggy is as close as I can get for the next three or four years.

My dad used to have a dune buggy, but it was very, very old fashioned, and old. It had wooden pedals for the acceleration and brakes, and the steering wheel was wood too. Oh yeah, and the brakes didn't work. The paint job was super (I want to say something, but I won't)…cruddy, and the paint was pretty much gone. Also, the tires were all flat. The only time I remember driving it was when my dad "forgot" the brakes didn't work, and made us all crash into our gate, which is still broken. I don't necessarily remember what we did with that dune buggy, but I know it's not with us, and probably in a better place.

For that reason, I want my OWN dune buggy that I drive…and ONLY I drive. And since Olancha is such a great place to have quads and dirt bikes and other toys, it would be perfect for me to have a mini dune buggy. A good use for it would be, for example: if we run out of milk, (which happens pretty often) I could go to the Mobil and get it. I would be having fun at the while I'm doing something good. I could also go to the school with my friends and be able to get home without the help of my parents

On the mini dune buggy, I'd need working head lights, two seats, a good engine, and some sort of storage compartment. If I could get all with these things on a fabulous miniature dune buggy, I'd be a happy camper!

The Strangest thing I’ve ever Eaten

by Nora

Everyone around the world eats strange things, but to them, there's nothing wrong with eating that. In America, the foods we eat are completely normal to us, but people who live on different continents probably think we're crazy. But it's the same for people in America too. When we see people eating dogs in Korea, we think it's terrible and disgusting, but to them it's delicious.

One of the strangest things I've ever eaten was camel meat. I was in Morocco and we were eating at my dad's sister's house. It was close to our departure and his sisters wanted to cook something special. Everyone sat down at the table and I asked my mom what we were eating, but she didn't answer me. The main dish (which was the camel meat) looked exactly like beef burger patties, so I assumed it was beef. When I tasted it, it tasted somewhat like beef, but slightly different. I decided to stop eating it and say I was full just because no one would tell me what it actually was and I was getting a little nervous. (I never eat anything without knowing what it is.) Everyone kept pushing me to eat it, so I ate little by little very slowly. I didn't feel too pressured because it didn't feel like they were hiding something from me or I wasn't in on a secret they knew. So over all it went pretty well.

When my parents actually told me what it was, we were already home in Olancha. My mom and I were discussing the trip when we went over all the crazy foods that were there. Like: snails, sheep head, sheep eye balls (which I dared my dad to eat), and many others. All of a sudden she said camel meat. I was like, "Camel meat?! When did we eat that?" Then she said it was the day when we ate the stuff that looked like beef. I was so disgusted I just scrunched up my face and started repeating, "Eeeeeeeew!" over and over again.

I decided from then on that I always HAVE to know what I'm eating or else I'm not eating it.

5 People I know

By Nefer

One of the people I know is Angela. She is a very happy and cheerful person. She had really curly hair that can sometimes get really crazy! Angela is always really helpful and can always cheer people up. She is a very good friend.

Another person I know is Nora. She is a very weird person. She likes wearing colorful stuff, and she likes drawing. He is a very creative person! Nora is very smart; she gets a 4.0 almost every quarter.

A third person I know is Lupita! She is a very nice girl. She is very outgoing and cheerful. She is almost always smiling and giggling. Lupita is an awesome person!

Kayla is another person I know. She is short, skinny, and funny! One day she made up a family, Angela and I are cousins, Kayla's Angela's daughter, so I am her aunt. She has a very big imagination and is always making up things. She is a monkey because she likes climbing and hanging on things. She is a very cheerful person!

The least favorite person that I know is my big sister Lizeth. She is really mean to me. She can be funny sometimes but other times she is just really mean. She's tall and kind of strong. When she tries she can be nice and helpful. I don't like her a lot because she is usually mean to me.

Daydreams and Nightmares

By Jonathan

On the topic of dreams I'd write about a nightmare.

I was in a volcano I couldn't tell the time of day. Because it looked like night but the sun was out. The rocks in the volcano were shaped like skulls. I looked around and I heard a deafening screech. By the time I saw what did it, it was already too late. I saw what did it but its claws already stabbed me. It was like a big bipedal lizard; it was slimy spikes were sticking out of its back. It looked like a cross between an alien and a crocodile. Then I was at my house my mom asked me what was wrong I told her then her face looked like a zombie and she ate me! I saw my guts being ripped out and eaten like a pig would eat it. Then I was outside I saw my pet cat but it was a zombie then I got an ax and had to kill itL.

Then I thought I was awake but I was staring at someone one who was disintegrating.

Then I saw this exact image that I haven't saw until today!!! And then E.T. was staring at me. Then Michal Jackson blew my head off with a shotgun!

The Best Present Ever

By Jacob

The best present ever would be a brand new kick start Honda CR85R. With pink grips. The tires would be Dunlop with sponsorships from Alpinstars, Dunlop, Target, Wizeco, Geico Powersports, and Honda.

I would get a Fox helmet that was pink,(if your wondering why I want pink so much is because of breast cancer). Also I would get Pro Taper Schoolboy Handlebars. That would be the perfect combined B-Day present.

Describe yourself (in at least two paragraphs) as a child of 7

By Chad

Well, if I was in a family of 7, I'd be driven NUTS daily. I'd get annoyed so much I'd beat the crap out of them. They'd be bleeding from the toe up. I'd also be shooting them with my BB gun. I'd laugh.

But, there would be some good times. We'd beat the crap out of other people. We'd also shoot them with BB guns, and get away. Heck, we'd even make them bleed from the toe up and laugh!

Birthday Gifts

by Aly

The best birthday present I've ever received is my cell phone. I have many reasons why it's the best present ever for me, but a lot of them would sound stupid so I'll go with the better reasons. First, I can't go a day without texting, so the keyboard on my phone makes everything way easier to type. Also, it has a music player, so whenever I want to listen to my music all I have to do is go to the 'music app' on my phone. And lastly, it's easy to keep track of people with, like whenever I'm down in L.A. I tend to… wonder, so whenever I need to find my mom all I got to do is call, now if only she'd pick up her phone when I call.

The best present I could receive is a trip to Russia. I love Russia, so being able to travel there, without my parents to tell me where to go, would be absolutely great. I could go see art museums, movie theaters, and famous historical sites. Also the food in Russia is said to be delicious. So that's the best birthday gift I could ever get.

I’ll Never Be Able to Thank Enough…

By Aly

The person I would never be able to thank enough is not a person at all, but a pet. He may be a dog, but to me he's my best friend. His name is Rooky, and he's a collie and golden retriever mix, and really without him, I think I'd be lost and totally sad and depressed all the time.

And no matter how much I buy him stuff and hug him, and unfortunately, let him push me off the bed, he's still always there for me. Oh and he also keeps my dad from waking me up at 7:30 AM on a Saturday morning. Because no matter what mood I'm in, he's always been their when others weren't, and the fact that he cant actually speak makes him a good listener. I know I sound crazy but I would actually give my life for my dog, just because he was so nice to me.

My Birthday

By NoraJ

Birthdays are supposed to be a fun time.
For
about the last three years, I haven't had any parties or anything for my birthday.
I didn't have any parties because they don't interest me as much as they did before. But for my next birthday, I do want to do something.

The
presents I ask for aren't toys or anything complicated like they used to be. Now I mostly ask for money. But for my next birthday, I want to do something fun and special. But what's sometimes hard is that my dad and I share the same birthday, so we both have to agree on something. But my dad doesn't really care, since all he wants to do for his birthday is to be left in peace and to be able to drink his beer and watch UFC. The harder part is having my parents agree on my idea.

One of my ideas for my birthday is to go to Chuck E. Cheese's and just hang out there for a day. I think that would be really fun because the games are awesome.
The only bad part is that the food isn't too good.
But if my parents buy me a lot of coins and let me play games for as long as I want, that's good enough.

The second idea I'd like to do would to go to Los Angeles and go shopping for new clothes and accessories. To me, doing that would be really fun because I like the stores they have in L.A. because they have funky and goofy clothes.
Buying new shoes is fun for me too, because I'm obsessed with colorful and crazy shoes.
Also, going out for dinner at the Cheese Cake Factory is very, very fun. Having a weekend for that would be a really great thing to do.

Another thing I'd like to do would go quad riding in the woods in Mammoth. I've done it before and it was the best ride with quads I've ever been on. Doing that would be delightful. When we're done riding, we could go to a restaurant in mammoth and eat lunch/dinner. I know it doesn't sound too fun, but to me, it would do just fine.

The fourth idea I have is to go to Ridgecrest and buy the go-cart/ dune buggy I've been eyeing for a pretty long time. I would be so excited because for the longest time I wanted one. And since that won't take too long to do, we could go watch a movie in the theatres. Buying that go-cart would be absolutely great, and adding the movie would be fabulous.

The last idea I have is to go sledding in Mammoth. Sledding is one of the best things ever to me because I like to fall, but it hurts to do it anywhere, so in the snow it's perfect. If I could just go sledding for a whole day, that would wrap up my birthday. I'm sure my parents would let me do that, which is great.

If I get to do any of these for my birthday, I would be a very happy person. Also, I would at least have something fun to look forward to for the birthday after my next one. I really hope my parents like my ideas, and they actually agree.

I Will Be a Police

By Nefer

In 20 years I will be a police. To be a police first I would have to go to high school and maybe go to college. I will be living in Hawaii in a palm tree. My palm tree would have lots of coconuts for me to eat and drink. After working as a police for a while I would be rich. Then I would move into a big mansion and leave my palm tree. In my mansion I would live alone. If someone that I pulled over didn't listen to me I would taze them and spray them with pepper spray. My house would be really clean because I would only use one of the rooms. I would sit in my room and practice using my police things when I wasn't working. In 20 years my life will be awesome as a police!

Freedom to travel

By Marvin

I have the freedom to go to any country in the world and I want to go to Paris. The reason why I want to go to Paris is because I have always wanted to go to the Eiffel Tower and look out to the whole city. I have been to 15 states in the U.S and I have never been to a different country besides Mexico. I hope to go to Paris when I'm 20 years old.

Another place I place I would like to go is Miami, Florida. I want to go to Florida because there is a famous skate park called love Skate Park and there are many pros that skate there. Since I live in California it is across the country. That is part of the reason I don't want to go. I want to go to many places but I don't like to travel.

In 20 Years…

By Magie

In 20 years I will be an actress. First I would be less embarrassed. Then I would be on lots of TV shows. I would be on the shows I watch and they would be even funnier. One of the shows I would love to be in would be everybody hates Chris. I would like to be in that show because it is really funny. It is also my favorite show. Another show I'd like to go on would be ICarly. I would like to be on that show to see who's stronger me or Sam. That's what I would like to be in 20 years.

If I Were a Teacher

By Jonathan

If I were a teacher I would quit my job after one week. But I would do this in the one week I was there; I would show two Kent Hovind videos (he's a creationist debater [on the nrb network on Tuesdays at nine o'clock {his show is called: the creation series, if you believe evolution watch that show for a week you'll be changed}). Second I'd hide microphones in their desks. And give a refurl to cussers. Also I'd reward non cussers. I'd show them how easy it is to be brain washed. A man leaves home jogging, he jogs a little, turns left, jogs a little turns left, jogs a little turns left and jogs back home. When he gets back home there are two masked men waiting for him. Who are they and why did he leave home jogging? Mr. Heist is going to put this on the blog so put your answer in a comment, then I'll put the answer in a comment. And see if I successfully brain washed anyone.

My worst Mistake

By Emma

My worst mistake was breaking my phone both times. The first time I broke it I was at the Dehy park. When I was on the play ground I threw my phone sorta high and tried to make it land on the wood chippies. It came right back down on the playground. The front of it was fine and when I opened it half of the screen was cracked it wasn't the bad I could still see most of the things I was doing on it. But as time went by the crack got worse because I would always drop it. Eventually the whole screen got cracked and I really wanted a new phone. One day Karlie and I were messing around in the street and my hone broke in half. The bottom part of it works but no one can call or text me. Now I have to wait a long time before I get a new one. I have to wait till my mom decides what new phone she wants and the once she gets it I get her phone. If I don't get her phone I have to wait until December to get a new one when my contract expires. I still get to get a phone in December if I get my moms phone and that's a long time from now. That was my worst mistake ever.

Scotland sounds like a really cool place to go I here that it's really green there too. Scotland is the one place I would go if I could!

Tell five things you'd like to do on your next birthday

By Chad

  1. I'd go to John Pizza in Bakersfield. They have a lot of rides there and a lot of food.

  1. I'd like to see my sister Krysti. She lives right behind John's Pizza in an RV park. She lives in our trailer, because all her roommates screw her over every time.

(3) I'd like to see my dad Jerry, because he is really nice, but he lives in Nebraska. I didn't get to see him long last year because his wife became rude to us after 3 days, so my mom wanted me to go home after the reunion. They got a divorce so now I can go to Nebraska this summer and visit him.

(4)    I'd like to get a new Cell phone, and migrate to T-Mobile. That way I can get unlimited everything for only 79.99. That way I can go on the internet and get as many free ringtones as I want. And I can connect my iPod Touch to its Bluetooth and connect to the internet from everywhere. All I'll have to d is do 20$ of chores each week or get a job.

(5)

like to have 1 million dollars and invest it in a business. I'd do that so I can afford college when I get older, or just buy a nice house in a nice neighborhood of a city, once I make enough money on profits.

Advice

By Chad

If I could give one piece of advice to any person in history, that advice would be... for Martin Luther King Jr. to not go out on the beacon. I would also say he should not have bent over. If I could say that to him, he may be living right now. If he was still alive, there'd be less riots over his death. There'd also be fewer gangs, black crime and such. Basically the crime rate may be lessened. There'd be no such thing as Crips and Bloods and all the famous black gangs. (No racism intended)

If I Were the Teacher

By Avi

If I were the teacher, I would start class at 9:00 a.m. I would let my students listen to their IPods as long as I couldn't hear it. I would also let them chew gum they just have to spit it out before they left the class. I would assign seats only to kids that talked a lot. The desks would be arranged in a big circle. I would give them their homework half an hour before class was over and give them time to work on in class. My classroom would be really colorful. I would also have a laptop for each student. They would work on the laptops instead of on paper. I would also give them snacks. I wouldn't mind if they wore hats or sunglasses. And class would be over at 10:00.

In 20 years I will be…

By Avi

In 20 years, I will be a Doctor. To be a Doctor first I would have to go to college for about 4 years. But before college I would have finish High School and get my diploma. Then I would look for a college to go to. Then after I found the college would be going to I would choose my career. I would like to be a Doctor because I like to help people and I would like to cure them. Although, I really can't stand looking at blood for a long time. I would prefer to be a Doctor for little kids. I would try my best to be a awesome Doctor. I have always wanted to be a Doctor ever since I was in Kindergarten.

Russia

By Aly

If I had the freedom to travel to any city or country, I would have many places to go. But my most favorite place would be Russia. I would love to travel to Russia for many reasons, but my top three reasons will be explained.

First, Russia's building are said to be a piece of art, not any building is the same. I believe that their artistic ways would be favorable to go see and study. I could imagine looking up at the sky scrapers and seeing huge murals, of many varieties, and the only things to come to mind are: beautiful, breath taking, and awesome.

Also, the history of Russia is large, and I would want to study it first hand, going to Moscow and Siberia where a lot of their history took place would be much fun, being able to go to museums, seeing art, war sites, and so on and so on. And looking up my family history would also be a bonus. Learning about the Russian Mafia, would really spark my interest. Seeing how they use to run Russia would be interesting.

Lastly, it's so big, and I would just love to visit a lot of the cities and towns. I know it sounds stupid, but it just seems interesting to meet all those people and see everything Russia has to offer. I also plan to live in Russia one day, so I might as well see what it looks like.

So that's why I would like to travel to Russia, if I had the freedom to travel and why.

When I Moved…

By Aly

I had just gotten home from Camp Kindle, I was happy, ecstatic even, And I felt as if I was on top of the world, my life was perfect. I looked around and saw my mothers black jeep rounding the corner. I smiled wide and said goodbye to my friends, carrying my luggage, I headed to the car, and hugged my parents. My father, whom I now call Jeff, picked up my luggage and put them into the trunk of the car.

I got in, putting on my seatbelt, and my father started the car easing it forward, and driving onto the highway. My mom turned around and said with a straight face "We're moving."

My face went blank, I hadn't even been able to tell Cayla and Courtney goodbye. "What?" I exclaimed.

"I said we're moving." Repeated my mother. She smiled as if moving was going to be great.

I quietly nodded sad, and leaned my head against the window closing my eyes.

~~Two years later~~

Now in 6th grade, I finally got through to my parents that I had not wanted to move here. But I was silently suffering through the years I am forced to live here, dreaming about the day where I can move, and be done with this town. I am not preppy like I once was, nor do I care what I look like, I feel as if those have no meaning in my once city lifestyle. But now I know that not all of life will be easy, like I once thought it, but I know that life is a game, and mine is just a pawn in someone else's game…

Angela’s Favorite Place

By Angela

My room is my favorite place in my house I am in there most of the day. When I was in the 5th grade and went to 5th grade science camp I came back to a pink and purple room! My dad and cousin painted it while I was gone; they choose those colors because those were my two favorite colors at the time. Now those are not my favorite colors now they are hot pink and black.

My bed is kind of small but it is comfy. It is pink and it says "Being a princess isn't always easy". I think it is retarded but my mom choose it so whatever. My favorite thing about my room is my closet. The reason that is my favorite thing about my room is because it is pretty big. Once when I got mad at my dad I stayed in there it is big enough that I can lay down. I didn't get bored because I have a lot of games in there, so it is pretty cool.

School Rules…

by Aly

If I had the opportunity to change any school rules I would absolutely change or delete some. But the reason what and why I want to change them are in the following paragraphs.

My first choice for changing the rule, is the infamous… No cell phone. Why? Well one of my main reasons is because we live in the 21st century, where all kids have cells phones. This is the age of technology, and I think we should embrace it, instead of banning it.

My second choice is: No chewing gum. Studies prove that if you chew gum, your brain works more efficiently. Now I understand the problem of kids putting their A.B.C. (Already Been Chewed) gum under the table, but all you really have to do is show that you think we're responsible. Maybe most of us would live up to it. But we can't ever prove it, because nobody gives us a chance.

Last but not least; my third choice, my third choice would be just a little adjustment to IPods' at school. I wouldn't say kids should have it out all the time, but like during recess we should be allowed to play games on it if we want to. How would adults like it if their work said "you cannot have your cell phone out, because you might call your family." I bet that would make them very mad. Heck it would make me mad!

So now you heard my reasons, I would like you to think: Are these rules fair? And if it's a no, then just remember these are just opinions.

THE NEW SCHOOL RULES!

By Lupita

Our school doesn't have many rules but the ones we do have to be obeyed and if they aren't there are great consequences. Some rules we have I agree with others I don't some are kind of stupid and others necessary. It really just depends on they way you look at things. If I could I would change a couple.

One rule that I would change would be the gum rule. Yes gum can make big messes and it is hard to clean but students should be trusted sometimes. Maybe a way to control the gum would be that when a student was in class they could have gum but when they leave they have to spit it out. Even with the gum rule at our school kids are constantly chewing gum and getting written up for it they don't care. Most likely kids will keep bring the gum and chewing it until one principal finally gives in and lifts the rule. It has been proven that when kids have gum they work better that's why we get gum when we have the S.T.A.R test. The teachers here could probably get together and brain storm and find ways to let kids chew gum but without it becoming a problem. However first we have to get a principal to get the rule lifted.

The second rule that I would change would be the cell phone rule. At our school the rule for phones is don't bring it and if you do it must be turned off at all times. Cell phones can be a distraction to most kids and that's why I think they aren't allowed. Having a cell phone when you're in middle school means that you want to have it with you at all times which at school isn't good idea because you miss you on what you're suppose to be learning. However it would be nice if maybe when you were at break that you could use it and then have to turn it off. Maybe even if the teachers would let us have a day where we could use our phones freely the problem with phones wouldn't be as bad. This might or might not help but I think that teachers should try to lighten up a little bit when it comes to these things.

The third rule is the iPod rule I think that it should be tweaked just a little bit. We are allowed to have iPods at school which is awesome but only for lunch and first break. The two times we have to listen is only about forty-five minutes which really isn't that much. However some teachers like Mrs.Benites and Mrs.Berley they let you listen to your music as long as it doesn't distract you or affect your work. I think that more teachers should be more open to this idea. Letting more kids listen to their own music might motivate them to do their work. Some teachers might not agree with this idea but they should give it a try to see if it would work.

Some rules should be changed others just terminated because they're useless. Occasionally some rules are needed like gun rules and drug rules but others like run and bikes are not that necessary.

Jon’s Rules

By Jonathan

If I were able to change school rules there are several (not really several, but you know what I mean) rules I would change. I would also tweak school rules. Maybe I would even get rid of some rules altogether.

A rule I would add would be: if someone (student, custodian, or another teacher) disagrees with a teacher or text book, the other would have to listen until one or the other is proven wrong, or proves the text book wrong, which means the school would need to get new text books wrong. Also any one could bring something to prove the other one wrong. I would add that rule because if creation is true and you're a Christian you have nothing to lose, but everything to gain. If creation is true and you're not…

It will literally be ending up in Hell (I mean that like a place not a cuss word).

A rule I would get rid of is the no hugging rule. Two people hug each other… WHY THE @#$% DOES IT MATTER!!!
I thought it was a good thing for people to get along! Times are changing! You people (WHO DON'T LIKE IT WHEN PEOPLE ARE GETTING ALONG!!!) are afraid of change, you are afraid and letting fear control your lives!

A rule I would tweak is the no videogames rule. I would make it so people can bring and play videogames at school. But not M rated games like Halo. MAN THAT IS GOERY!! Videogames can send the wrong message like that.

So those are the rules I would change. I'm not really out of things to write (or in this case type) but I am out of time.
