"There are two sides to a coin", to me that means that everything that happens has a good side and a bad side to it. One time this phrase would be used well is if you do better than everyone on a quiz or test, the bad side would be everybody calling you a nerd and the good side would be you getting the best grade in the class! Everybody has a different opinion of which is the good side and which is the bad side to the problem. Another time would be when you go shopping, if you're a little kid and you can't find any clothes that fit in the children's' section, you'll have to go shop in the juniors section from then on. For anybody that could be either good or bad, some people like growing up but some people would much rather stay little. "Two sides on every coin" or "Two perspectives to everything that happens", they mean the same thing to me.
