School Rules…

by Aly

If I had the opportunity to change any school rules I would absolutely change or delete some. But the reason what and why I want to change them are in the following paragraphs.

My first choice for changing the rule, is the infamous… No cell phone. Why? Well one of my main reasons is because we live in the 21st century, where all kids have cells phones. This is the age of technology, and I think we should embrace it, instead of banning it.

My second choice is: No chewing gum. Studies prove that if you chew gum, your brain works more efficiently. Now I understand the problem of kids putting their A.B.C. (Already Been Chewed) gum under the table, but all you really have to do is show that you think we're responsible. Maybe most of us would live up to it. But we can't ever prove it, because nobody gives us a chance.

Last but not least; my third choice, my third choice would be just a little adjustment to IPods' at school. I wouldn't say kids should have it out all the time, but like during recess we should be allowed to play games on it if we want to. How would adults like it if their work said "you cannot have your cell phone out, because you might call your family." I bet that would make them very mad. Heck it would make me mad!

So now you heard my reasons, I would like you to think: Are these rules fair? And if it's a no, then just remember these are just opinions.

THE NEW SCHOOL RULES!

By Lupita

Our school doesn't have many rules but the ones we do have to be obeyed and if they aren't there are great consequences. Some rules we have I agree with others I don't some are kind of stupid and others necessary. It really just depends on they way you look at things. If I could I would change a couple.

One rule that I would change would be the gum rule. Yes gum can make big messes and it is hard to clean but students should be trusted sometimes. Maybe a way to control the gum would be that when a student was in class they could have gum but when they leave they have to spit it out. Even with the gum rule at our school kids are constantly chewing gum and getting written up for it they don't care. Most likely kids will keep bring the gum and chewing it until one principal finally gives in and lifts the rule. It has been proven that when kids have gum they work better that's why we get gum when we have the S.T.A.R test. The teachers here could probably get together and brain storm and find ways to let kids chew gum but without it becoming a problem. However first we have to get a principal to get the rule lifted.

The second rule that I would change would be the cell phone rule. At our school the rule for phones is don't bring it and if you do it must be turned off at all times. Cell phones can be a distraction to most kids and that's why I think they aren't allowed. Having a cell phone when you're in middle school means that you want to have it with you at all times which at school isn't good idea because you miss you on what you're suppose to be learning. However it would be nice if maybe when you were at break that you could use it and then have to turn it off. Maybe even if the teachers would let us have a day where we could use our phones freely the problem with phones wouldn't be as bad. This might or might not help but I think that teachers should try to lighten up a little bit when it comes to these things.

The third rule is the iPod rule I think that it should be tweaked just a little bit. We are allowed to have iPods at school which is awesome but only for lunch and first break. The two times we have to listen is only about forty-five minutes which really isn't that much. However some teachers like Mrs.Benites and Mrs.Berley they let you listen to your music as long as it doesn't distract you or affect your work. I think that more teachers should be more open to this idea. Letting more kids listen to their own music might motivate them to do their work. Some teachers might not agree with this idea but they should give it a try to see if it would work.

Some rules should be changed others just terminated because they're useless. Occasionally some rules are needed like gun rules and drug rules but others like run and bikes are not that necessary.

Jon’s Rules

By Jonathan

If I were able to change school rules there are several (not really several, but you know what I mean) rules I would change. I would also tweak school rules. Maybe I would even get rid of some rules altogether.

A rule I would add would be: if someone (student, custodian, or another teacher) disagrees with a teacher or text book, the other would have to listen until one or the other is proven wrong, or proves the text book wrong, which means the school would need to get new text books wrong. Also any one could bring something to prove the other one wrong. I would add that rule because if creation is true and you're a Christian you have nothing to lose, but everything to gain. If creation is true and you're not…

It will literally be ending up in Hell (I mean that like a place not a cuss word).

A rule I would get rid of is the no hugging rule. Two people hug each other… WHY THE @#$% DOES IT MATTER!!!
I thought it was a good thing for people to get along! Times are changing! You people (WHO DON'T LIKE IT WHEN PEOPLE ARE GETTING ALONG!!!) are afraid of change, you are afraid and letting fear control your lives!

A rule I would tweak is the no videogames rule. I would make it so people can bring and play videogames at school. But not M rated games like Halo. MAN THAT IS GOERY!! Videogames can send the wrong message like that.

So those are the rules I would change. I'm not really out of things to write (or in this case type) but I am out of time.

The killing of Chelsea King was written by Scott Coppersmith, Dennis Lovelace / myFOXla.com. http://www.myfoxla.com/dpp/news/missing-teen-sex-offender-arrested-20100228. What interested me in this story, is knowing that a 17 year old girl got killed by a man who was sloppy, and decided not to get rid of the evidence. The story was about a girl named Chelsea King, who was reported missing, and her body was found, and evidence led the police to believe that registered sex offender named John Albert Gardner III. Her body was found in a shallow grave in Lake Hodges. Gardner then pleaded guilty and got a sentencing of jail for 11 years. Her body was found on March 2nd 2010. All her friends and family said she would be missed.

My nicknames

By Samantha

I have a few nicknames and I like them all. My nicknames are Samwitch, Shampoo, Sampoo and my favorite Sam. One day when Emma, Karlie and I went to school at Owens Valley. We decided to make up nicknames for each other. I made up M&M for Emma. So one day while we were eating lunch, a sandwich, she got the idea for my nickname Samwich. Shampoo came from Emma when she got her cell phone. I put her in my phone as Bemma so she wanted a nickname for me to put in her phone. So some how she came up with Shampoo. Then after a while she just changed it to Sampoo. My favorite nickname of all is Sam. It's short for my whole name Samantha. My dad gave me my name. He got it from the 1960`s sitcom, Bewitched he watched the show as reruns when he was a kid. In the show a witch is married to a mortal and tries to live a normal life. The witch was portrayed actress Elisabeth Montgomery, who I think my dad had a crush on. The witches name? Samantha.

Chad’s Tome

By Chad

Her laughter broke the silence. It pierced the air. It stabbed the silence and everyone was forced to laugh along. They all laughed for a good half an hour. When most of them stopped, the girl kept on laughing. In about 5 minutes, the business meeting was over. The woman got fired, but she kept on laughing.

When she got home, her children ran away, but she still kept on laughing. The husband wanted a divorce, but she kept laughing. She got severe burns from a stove, but still laughed. She got a phone call, and she answered it. She said, "Hehehehehe*clears throat* He he hello?" The doctor said "Your kids have been brutally murdered." Tears now run down her cheeks. But she STILL laughed. She hung up.

She was laughing, with a frown, and tears now ran down her cheeks. This cannot be a happy laugh! It was crude and mean. It tortured her. She felt like killing herself to end the pain!

She couldn't SLEEP laughing like this. She ended up staying up all night, and she wasn't able to eat while laughing. She was very hungry and thirsty, yet she cannot feed or hydrate herself. Poor girl.

She searched online how to eat and drink while laughing. Once she found out how, she tried it, and failed. She tried again, and once again, failed. She tried again, and succeeded. At least she could now stay alive. She also took a job as the laugher for comedy skits. All she had to do was contain it for a few minutes.

Her laughter finally ended when someone she loved vey close to her heart, A.K.A. her mother, died in a gunfight against the New York Mafia. Her gang won, but her life was lost in battle. Now the laughing chick is now the depressed chick. Soon after she heard this, she killed herself to see her kids and mom in heaven. She lived peacefully afterwards.

Prestin’s Nicknames

By Prestin

My mom and dad call me bubba all the time it's not a bad nickname. Almost every time I do something good they call me bubba. I'm glad they don't call me something funny like Angela nickname.

When my mom and dad say it when my friends are there I don't care. All my friends call me all the kind of stuff like bob and pop tart. I got more but I can't name them all.
